Does an AI Receptionist Use My Patients' Data to Train AI?

October 2, 2026

ZeroMiss never uses your patients' information to train AI models, and its speech and AI providers are contracted and configured not to retain or train on it. Here's how that's enforced.

Short answer: not with ZeroMiss. Your patients' conversations are used for one thing: helping that patient with your clinic. We don't train models on them, and our speech and inference providers are contracted and configured so they don't retain the conversation or use it for training. Records we do keep are deleted after 30 days.

How "no training" is actually enforced

  • Contracts: our agreements with providers limit use to delivering the service, with no secondary use.
  • Configuration: model-improvement and data-caching options are switched off for our requests, on every request.
  • Retention: the AI providers process each turn of the conversation and don't keep it; what ZeroMiss keeps is deleted after 30 days.
  • Separation: each clinic's information is used only for that clinic, never to improve service for another.

What the AI does see, and what it doesn't

The AI model sees the words a patient types or says, plus your clinic's published information (services, hours, policies) so it can answer. It does not see names, dates of birth or contact details that patients enter in the secure chat's protected fields; those go straight to your booking system.

Why it matters under PHIPA

As your agent, ZeroMiss may use patient information only to provide the service to your clinic. Training a model on it would be a new use your patients never agreed to. Keeping that line bright is part of a PHIPA-aligned service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does ZeroMiss improve over time without training on our data?

Yes. Improvements come from your clinic's own settings and knowledge (services, FAQs) and from synthetic test conversations, not from real patient conversations.

Do you analyze our calls for marketing?

No. Patient information isn't used for marketing, advertising or analytics beyond your clinic's own dashboard.

Can we get this commitment in writing?

Yes. It's part of the agent agreement and the subprocessor register we provide.

Bottom Line

"We don't train on your data" should come with specifics: which providers, what settings, how long anything is kept. ZeroMiss gives you all three, in writing.
