AI Receptionist for a Medical Spa in Alberta on Jane App

AI Receptionist for a Medical Spa in Alberta on Jane App

October 20, 2026

For an Alberta medical spa on Jane App, an AI receptionist should answer every call, quote treatments from your approved price list, offer real Jane openings and text Jane's booking link, and send any post-treatment concern straight to staff. It should also fit Alberta privacy law: the Health Information Act for custodians, PIPA for everyone else.

For an Alberta medical spa on Jane App, an AI receptionist should book consults in Jane, answer treatment questions only from your approved information, and put any post-treatment concern in front of a person immediately. ZeroMiss reads your real Jane openings, offers them, and texts Jane's own booking link so the client books in Jane. It never gives medical advice, doesn't record calls, and stores data in Canada.

What medical spa phones actually get

Most calls are "how much is it?", "do you have anything this week?", "is a consult required?", "how long does it last?", deposits and cancellation policies, and the occasional client worried about swelling or bruising after a treatment. Many of these come in the evening, after work, when the clinic is closed. The first group should end in a booking. The last should reach a nurse or the medical director, fast.

How it works with Jane

ZeroMiss reads the open times you publish for online booking in Jane, offers them on the call or in chat, and texts the client Jane's own booking link for that practitioner and treatment. The client confirms in Jane, so your intake forms, deposits and confirmations all run as usual. ZeroMiss never logs in to your Jane account and never writes to it. Alberta privacy: HIA or PIPA

Alberta has two privacy laws that can apply to an aesthetics practice. Health professionals designated as custodians under the Health Information Act must complete a privacy impact assessment and submit it to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner before introducing a new system that handles health information, and need an agreement with any information manager that handles it for them. Amendments that came into force in June 2026 added obligations around privacy impact assessments, shared information and AI. Practices not covered by the HIA follow the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), where submitting a PIA is voluntary. Your regulatory college can confirm which applies to you.

For Alberta clinics, ZeroMiss prepares a PIA template on request and works with you on the information manager agreement the HIA requires. The safeguards are the same ones we sign for Ontario clinics under PHIPA:

  • Stored in Canada (Montréal). Live voice processing outside Canada is disclosed provider by provider, with zero retention.
  • No call recording. Transcripts and messages deleted after 30 days. No AI training on your data.
  • No health card numbers, dates of birth or symptoms collected on the phone.
  • An access log of every view of client information, and breach notice no later than 72 hours after we become aware.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have locations in Calgary and Edmonton. How does that work?

Each location is set up with its own number, hours, injectors, prices and Jane links, so a Calgary caller is never offered an Edmonton time. Pricing is $199 a month per location.

Can it take deposits?

Deposits are taken in Jane when the client books through the link, exactly as on your website. ZeroMiss never handles card details.

Will it quote prices we don't want quoted?

No. It uses only the wording you approve. If you'd rather prices are discussed at the consult, it says that.

Can we test it first?

Yes. Every clinic starts in a test environment. Call it as a client would, ask awkward questions, and follow the link before any real client reaches it.

Bottom Line

A medical spa's after-hours calls are high-value bookings and, occasionally, a worried client. The right AI receptionist books the first in Jane and gets the second to a person, under the privacy law that applies to your practice.
