Yes, and more directly than most practice software allows. Juno EMR is built on the open-source OSCAR EMR and has a REST API that your clinic can authorize. ZeroMiss uses it to find real openings and to book, move and cancel appointments straight in your Juno schedule. Nothing is written until the patient has been matched by name and date of birth and has tapped Confirm on a time the system actually offered.
Why Juno is different from most clinic software
Many practice platforms only let approved partners touch their scheduling, or don't offer an API at all, so an AI receptionist can only capture a request for staff to re-enter. Juno inherits OSCAR's web services: a documented REST interface that the clinic and its host can switch on and authorize. That means the booking can land in the EMR itself, with no front-desk re-typing.
The honest caveat: the REST API has to be enabled on your Juno instance, and that's your Juno host's switch, not ours. We check it with you before promising anything.
What a booking looks like
- The patient calls or texts. The assistant asks what they need and which practitioner, if any.
- It checks Juno. Openings are each practitioner's hours minus the appointments already in Juno, so it offers times that are really free.
- A secure link finishes it. On a call, the voice agent texts a private, single-use link. In the secure chat, the patient types their name and date of birth into fields the AI never sees.
- Matched, then confirmed. The server matches the patient in Juno (or creates a new patient record), shows a Confirm card, and writes the appointment only when it's tapped.
- It's in your day sheet. The appointment appears in Juno like any other, and in your ZeroMiss dashboard for the team.
Moves and cancellations
Rescheduling and cancelling go through the same secure chat, and the patient must be matched by name and date of birth before any appointment is shown. A stranger and a wrong birth date get exactly the same response. To move an appointment, ZeroMiss books the new time first and then cancels the old one, so the patient is never left with no appointment if something fails halfway.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the AI book into Juno during the phone call?
The voice receptionist finds openings and offers times on the call. To finish, it texts the caller a private, single-use link; the patient enters their name and date of birth in secure fields and taps Confirm, and the appointment is written to Juno. Identity details are never collected by voice or SMS.
Can the AI read patient charts in Juno?
No. ZeroMiss uses the schedule and the patient lookup only: booked times to find openings, a name and date-of-birth match to find the patient (or create a new record), and appointment create, move and cancel. It doesn't read charts, notes, labs or billing.
What does my clinic need to set up?
REST access turned on for your Juno instance (your Juno host does this), a REST client registered for ZeroMiss, a dedicated least-privilege Juno user, and a one-time approval by a clinic administrator. ZeroMiss never asks for your Juno password.
What if Juno can't be reached?
The assistant says it can't check the calendar right now and takes a callback request for your team. It never tells a patient there's nothing open because it couldn't look.
Bottom Line
If your clinic runs Juno, an AI receptionist doesn't have to stop at "we'll call you back to book." With REST access enabled, ZeroMiss can put the appointment in your schedule itself, under rules enforced in code: offered times only, a verified patient, and an explicit Confirm.
